December 19/14

I hope you all enjoyed the Christmas concert. We thought Div. 6 and 7 did a great job of both of their songs.  Whenever they sang either one of them everyone was so happy!

Thanks to Nic, Lachlan, Aston, Katrina and Layton for bring all the delicious snacks for our celebration today.

This morning our hallway Christmas reading was a big success!  It was pretty cool to see all the hallways especially around the Christmas tree filled with students reading and enjoying books!

Thanks to everyone for the special hugs and gifts!   Merry Christmas to everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday break!   Safe travels and we will see you in 2015!

December 5th

FOR OUR CHRISTMAS CONCERT OUR COSTUMES WILL BE:
PAJAMAS AND SANTA HATS :)
Please practice the songs at home so we can memorize all the words, thanks.  The children are doing amazing with both of these difficult songs!  I am very proud of them.

On Tuesdays instead of gym we often go outside to the forest.  This week many of the students created this cool wilderness game.

Thanks to of you that were able to come for your child's conferences.  Your support is greatly appreciated and together we are the team for your child's education.

Today we were totally spoiled.  It was Marco's birthday and he brought us all  Timbits!  Then Manvir also brought Timbits to celebrate the birth of her twin brothers!    Quinn's also brought in Live Wire candies that he shared during storytime  Thanks Marco, Manvir and Quinn for the yummy treats.

Ms D. was finished  last Friday.  We will all miss her but were excited to hear she will be able to come to see our Christmas Concert.

Raz Kids  has arrived!  Your child should have brought home today a notice explaining this online reading program that we will now be using in our class and we can also use it at home.  Please read over the letter, register through the Parent's link and then you will be able to see which books your child is reading, what quizzes they have done and you can even send them messages!  Thanks for your support with this - just another way to make reading different and fun!

Our Force and Motion Missions have been a big success.  Below the students in ACTION!

We also finished our Accordian Me project all turned out great!  We put our characteristics on our bodies, we all unique but special people!

November 21

Please remember to go to the link  https://sheralynrt.youcanbook.me/
sign up for a parent/teacher  and child's conference.  Thanks to everyone who has already signed up.  Just a reminder that these conferences are 30 minutes long - 15 minutes with your child and then you will meet with me for the last 15 minutes.

Today Division 7 and 6 had their own vote.  We had 4 choices of songs for the Christmas concert.  We had a ballot, voted and then in music we found out the winners!  We will be sending home a copy of the songs next week and if you could practice at home that would be great.  As far as what to wear we will keep you posted asap but it will be simple.

This week we moved table groups and started both new reader's workshop and new explorations,
The bubble and lincoln logs are two of the favourite stations. We learned a cool new game in gym called Rock/Paper/Scissor!  We are learning about adjectives and are making "Accordian Me" that describe ourselves.   Ms D taught us 3 new math games to practice our addition and subtraction and we reviewed the strategy of counting on and how it works for both +/-!   For our Force and MotionTheme we have been trying new stations and tried some new things, discovered and have come up with some good questions.

Today we have brought open a neat Math game called Moooove It!  Hopefully you will all have a chance to play it sometime over the weekend.

Scholastic orders went home today and they are due Dec. 1st.  Thanks to Sam's mom for getting these all ready for us.  If any of you want any of the books as Christmas gifts please just write it on the order form and I will give it directly to you instead of to your child.    Have a great weekend.
