Just a reminder that there is no school next Monday and Tuesday as Monday is a professional development day and Tuesday is a school growth plan.
This week we finished our cardinal art projects. They now look great outside our classroom.
We also finished something special for our memory books that you will be able to see at our conferences in March.
We got new buddies this Wednesday and we interviewed each other!
We started some new math stations and the place value dice game is a favourite! We also started
new explorations and we finished our force and motion so next week we will discuss all that we learned and discovered!
We got new Just Right Reading today!
Enjoy your long weekend hopefully all this rain won't continue!

January 16th
This week we started our Spelling Program - which hopefully you all got the notice about. Each week the students will do a lesson on the phonics focus for the week, if they do not complete these two pages during class time they will be bringing it home to finish. I have also added a new link on the front of our blog called Spelling City which is another great way for them to practice their words.
Thanks for your help with this program.
A huge thank you goes out to Sam, Quinn and Eli's mom for helping the students complete a couple of art projects. We all appreciate their time, patience and work!
This week we started some new Force and Motion stations. We are experimenting with a variety of different objects to make them move in different ways. It's amazing to see what some of them come up with!
PAPER TOWEL AND TOILET PAPER ROLLS ARE NEEDED FOR EXPLORATIONS SO IF EVERYONE COULD PLEASE SEND IN A FEW THAT WOULD BE APPRECIATED!
Thank you to Mallary's grandma for giving Division 7 most of these amazing shells!
This last picture was one the students wanted me to include from our Exploration Stations from last week. It shows you how tiring that first week back after winter break is!

Happy New Year!
Hope you all had a fabulous winter break and enjoyed lots of family time.
Division 7 are all starting this new year off on the right foot! They each made resolutions which you will have to stop by and read. They are great goals but also look good on the bulletin board.
With the new year 2015 we are focusing on place value in math and are using our base ten blocks.
We started a basketball unit in gym which all the students seem very excited about.
We are using our class Ipad to take pictures look at Slowy's kingdom also know as turtle castle!
During Your Time Kevin brought his new puppy which he got for Christmas. Her name is Daisy and she is so cute!
We finished colouring our squares during buddies for Fairview's Collaborative Art project. This bulletin board is in the main hallway going to the gym. Doesn't it look cool!

I hope you all enjoyed the Christmas concert. We thought Div. 6 and 7 did a great job of both of their songs. Whenever they sang either one of them everyone was so happy!
Thanks to Nic, Lachlan, Aston, Katrina and Layton for bring all the delicious snacks for our celebration today.
This morning our hallway Christmas reading was a big success! It was pretty cool to see all the hallways especially around the Christmas tree filled with students reading and enjoying books!
Thanks to everyone for the special hugs and gifts! Merry Christmas to everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday break! Safe travels and we will see you in 2015!

FOR OUR CHRISTMAS CONCERT OUR COSTUMES WILL BE:
PAJAMAS AND SANTA HATS :)
Please practice the songs at home so we can memorize all the words, thanks. The children are doing amazing with both of these difficult songs! I am very proud of them.
On Tuesdays instead of gym we often go outside to the forest. This week many of the students created this cool wilderness game.
Thanks to of you that were able to come for your child's conferences. Your support is greatly appreciated and together we are the team for your child's education.
Today we were totally spoiled. It was Marco's birthday and he brought us all Timbits! Then Manvir also brought Timbits to celebrate the birth of her twin brothers! Quinn's also brought in Live Wire candies that he shared during storytime Thanks Marco, Manvir and Quinn for the yummy treats.
Ms D. was finished last Friday. We will all miss her but were excited to hear she will be able to come to see our Christmas Concert.
Raz Kids has arrived! Your child should have brought home today a notice explaining this online reading program that we will now be using in our class and we can also use it at home. Please read over the letter, register through the Parent's link and then you will be able to see which books your child is reading, what quizzes they have done and you can even send them messages! Thanks for your support with this - just another way to make reading different and fun!
Our Force and Motion Missions have been a big success. Below the students in ACTION!
We also finished our Accordian Me project all turned out great! We put our characteristics on our bodies, we all unique but special people!
